Isis Naija Gaston, known professionally as Ice Spice, is an American rapper. She grew up in the Bronx, New York City, and began her career in 2021 after meeting record producer RiotUSA. Ice Spice rose to prominence in late 2022 with her song “Munch”, which achieved viral popularity on TikTok.

Why is it called Ice Spice?
Talking to Hip Hop Nation, she revealed how she came about the nickname: “My name is Isis, but I came up with the “Spice” part when I was like 14. I was just trying to come up with a finsta name, and I was like, “What rhymes with ice?” It was spice.“
